The district of Sarrià-Sant Gervasi in Barcelona, it already has a new space to the leisure from this Sunday, 17 of May, that’s has open to the public the Park Joan Reventós, located in the North zone of the district of Sarrià. Thus, the Barcelonan ones and turist can enjoy with a new green zone of two hectares of forest, that has supposed the recovery of laughed of them Monges.

It is possible to be acceded to the park by four different entrances: two in Ronda de Dalt with the street Major de Sarrià, one in the Ràfols street and another one in the flat  Ramon Miquel i with Sol i Pedrís.

The park takes to the name of the politician and neighbor of Sarrià, Joan Reventós, who were delegated and president of the Parlament de Catalonia and deputy in Them Corts, as well as one of the founders of the PSC.

Joan Rabascall exposition in Barcelona

Settled down in Paris from 1962, the Barcelonian artist Joan Rabascall has worried about everything what happened in his country of origin: Spain. That is demonstrated at the series it of works that realised from 1964 to 1982, that now it exposes in the Macba (Museum of contemporary Art of Barcelona).

Between these Landscapes of the Costa Brava are exposed, Spain is different or ” juguete” 23-F. Conditional reflection. Of the majority of works that now appear, more than 150, a 70% are unpublished. In them we found the critic of Rabascall to mass media and the majority use of the technique of collage.

Google Street View – Barcelona

Visit City Council building of Barcelona

If you want to see all the rooms of the City council building of Barcelona, you can participate in some of the commented visits free, that take place every Sunday.

Every Sunday in the morning of 10,00 to 13,30 hours the building of the City council of Barcelona open the doors. In this sense, you can visit the rooms like the ‘Saló de Cent’, or the ‘Saló of Reina Regent’.

In case of wanting to visit the building of individual form, to the entrance an informative pamphlet will be given. On the other hand, also the option exists to make the visits in group: every 30 minutes in charge of three guides licensed in history, and the language of the explanations of the visit can be chosen (Catalan, Castilian, French and English).

Picasso exhibition in Barcelona

The Mayoral Gallery of Barcelona exhibits from today a total of 35 works of Picasso, realised between 1898 and 1971 and in which they are present ” the Picassos personages of a whole life, with which the artist flies over the Classical Art and modern” , according to indicates his daughter Maya in the catalogue of the sample.

The critic of art and commissioner of the exhibition Daniel Giralt-Miracle indicates that ” before this collection of 35 works it is possible to ask itself once again which is the identity element of Picasso, which are the picassianas constants that do that before as much eclecticism, as much variety of procedures and forms to understand the work of art we detect the seal unmistakable of his way”.

Olafur Eliasson exhibition

In the Foundation Miro (Av Miramar, 1 – Sants-Montjuïc), you can enjoy uthe first exhibition of the artist of Icelandic, Olafur Eliasson, until the 28 of September.

The sample recreates on a large scale with facilities, sculptures and photographies the landscapes and the atmosphere of its earth. The exhibition includes fifty pieces that explore the production of the artist from year 1993 to the present time and reflect the diversity and complexity of one of the referring ones of the present artistic panorama.

080 Barcelona Fashion

From today until 5 of september, the 080 Barcelona Fashion will be showing the designs of around thirty independent designers for next spring and summer.

As it say in the web: “080 Barcelona Fashion first came about in July 2007. Its aim is to provide a platform to increase the visibility of independent designers and to become a point of reference for cutting-edge design and fashion on an international level. The driving forces behind 080 Barcelona Fashion are creativity and innovation, without forgetting the importance of the market and the need to provide a commercial outlet for fashion.”

This time, the fashion parades will be in the Fira of Barcelona. As we can know, there will  be more fringe events, relationating with fashion sector, as exhibition dedicated to Miriam Ocáriz.

J.G. Ballard exhibition in Barcelona

In the Centre of Contemporanean Culture of Barcelona (until November), there is an special exhibition of J.C. Ballard. Its name is: “Autopsy of the New Millennium” is a travel through his creative universe:  obsessions, artistic and literary references, the time, f anti-utopian scepticism and catastrophe.

J.G. Ballard has described the next future of abandoned motels, beautiful catastrophes, empty swimming pools. The exhibition includes audiovisuals, complete works, work by Ballardians and  material various on this most visionary of writers.

“Dalí per Descharnes” in Palau Robert – Barcelona

The Palau Robert of Barcelona presents the exhibition “Dalí de Cadaqués per Robert Descharnes” in the space “The display cabinet of photographer” , until 28 of September.

The exhibition shows some thirty of unusual images that they show the relation of the painter with the people of his immediate surroundings in his favourite scenes: Cadaqués and the region of the Empordà. Also an audio-visual assembly with all the 177 photographies appears that compose the collection.

As date, we must say that the relation of French photographer Descharnes with Dalí and Gala, began the winter of 1950 in Cadaqués. Since 1955 the photographer made long stays in this locality, which allowed him to accumulate an authentic photographic and filmed chronicle of the artist.

El Palau Robert is at Pg Gràcia, 107, and you can visit it from 10:00 h until 19:00 h (except Sundays, 10:00 to 14.30 hs).

Concerts in Ciutdadella of Barcelona

As we tell you before, the green spaces of Barcelona can be a suitable scene to enjoy good concerts during the nights of summer.

Parks and Gardens organizes cycles of music in natural spaces of the city. During the month of August, the jazz concerts seize of the public square of the park of the Ciutadella every Wednesday and Friday as of the 22,00 hours.

Loveball in Barcelona

Barcelona presents from today and to the 7 of August the fifth edition of the Loveball, the festival of more important leisure gay of Europe. The festival offers a great number of diurnal activities related to the culture, the art, the cinema and the sports in key gay, at the same time as it programs diverse events nocturnes.

We want Barcelona to StreetView

Ever since at the beginning of June they announced that Google was taking photographies from Barcelona, we are hoping that the service  shows them to StreetView.

But it seems that still we will have to wait for a little more, because if we go to Google map, nearest Barcelona in Street View, it is in France, in the Tour of France.

Gandules ‘08 in Barcelona

What a interesting proposal for the summer in Barcelona! I tell you, today I listened in the radio3 a precious interview, to one of the people who organize Gandules ‘ 08.

Gandules ‘ 08 is offered in Center of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona. It is and outdoors free  cinema, with the peculiarity of you can see the films in a hammock.

The proposal anticipates the projection of films all the Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursday of August. And as we said, it is free, but the capacity is limited.

“Intercultural” it is the title of the cycle that this year programs films that try on the displacements that take towards another culture and the situations of coexistence between cultures in a same place. The projections are in original.

In Barcelona: Estriptis

Estriptis is one of the most suggestive productions of the last edition of High Season and arrives now at the Borràs Theater as a sample on the utility of the body like linguistic vehicle. 

The ” bailaor” international of Granada, Rafael Amargo, Sol Picó, the cinema director Jaime Chávarri, the director of the Fura dels Baus Carlus Padrissa, and theater directors Mario Gas and Andres Lima offer their personal vision of ‘ striptease’ in the Estriptis spectacle, in the Teatre Borràs of Barcelona.

In this proposal, two men and one woman undress to the rate of the music of Mozart. The work puts in scene of unitary form the proposals of six of the most excellent authors of the scene of the dance, the theater, the cinema and the multidisciplinary scene.

With a beginning in which Rafael Amargo undresses the feet of his dancers, followed of the fragment of the trainer of horses and of a dancing that rises literally by the walls, the spectacle culminates with one more a daily vision of “estriptis”.

B-Summer Barcelona

By third consecutive year, with the arrival of the summer, B-Summer like an attractive musical alternative for the nights of July in the city of Barcelona. In this edition, the festival changes of format and sum a new space. The programming of B-Summer 2008 will be developed from the 9 to the 29 of July in two places differents: in the traditional scene outdoors of the greater place of the Poble Espanyol and in just incorporated Movistar Space, located in the Parc Bederrida of the University Zone.
